Cultivating economic prosperity through women's entrepreneurship.

The main objective of this project was to cultivate economic prosperity through women's entrepreneurship. The trainers from the Action for Youth and Environment association provided several theoretical and practical training sessions on the construction of hydroponic and aquaponic systems. This project aimed to introduce and test hydroponic and aquaponic systems in rural areas, which face numerous challenges. The project trained young women and girls to develop innovative ideas to address the climate challenges in their communities, such as a 9-month dry season, famine, desertification, and drought. The participants learned how to construct simple hydroponic and aquaponic systems. The project enabled the selected young participants to embark on innovative ideas to combat poverty, increasing unemployment rates, and food insecurity. The participants acquired basic skills in constructing simple systems, as well as received training in project management and implementation of innovative projects. The organization members expressed their gratitude to IREX for their financial support through funding from the U.S. Department of State.
