Founded on September 10, 2015, AYE (Action For Youth and Environment) was legalized in Maroua, in the Far North region of Cameroon, through Prefectural Order number 056 / RDA / K22 / SAAJP on July 25, 2017. AYE is an association working in the Far North of Cameroon to find sustainable solutions for youth education, particularly that of young girls, and works towards environmental protection. We directly engage with the most disadvantaged communities and seek to improve their quality of life, especially for women and young girls, in various areas such as leadership, entrepreneurship, renewable energy, advanced agriculture, and Income-Generating Activities (IGAs).
Our world, countries, and communities face climate change, food insecurity, economic crises, terrorism, and the Covid Pandemic. The first 4 challenges continue to threaten the lives of millions of people in our country. The activities of women, farmers, and underprivileged communities are brutally interrupted. Those threats primarily shatter youth’s dreams, future, and well-being. In the face of these crises in our country and central Africa, we are empowering youth, especially girls and women living in the poorest areas of our nation, through our various activities to help them unleash their full potential to become actors in their well-being and decision-makers in their community’s economic development.
